A native of Centre County, Betsy Dupuis has practiced law in Central Pennsylvania since 1997, first with a Centre County law firm and then joining the State College office of Babst Calland in the Fall of 2005.
Ms. Dupuis’ practice is focused upon residential and commercial real estate transactions, commercial development, business planning and formation, commercial and contract litigation, estate planning and estate administration. She also serves as solicitor for Patton Township in Centre County and Boggs and Bradford Townships in Clearfield County. Ms. Dupuis is a licensed Title Agent in Pennsylvania and conducts residential real estate closings through MidState Closing Company, an affiliate of Babst Calland. She regularly conducts seminars and programs related to business and real estate matters as well as estate planning and elder law.
Background
Ms. Dupuis received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 and her B.S. in Dairy Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 1988. She is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Centre County (LCC) and was recognized in 2011 by LCC with the Community Leadership Association’s Distinguished Leader Award.
Ms. Dupuis was also recognized in 2010 with the Centre County Community Foundation’s Future of the Foundation Award.
Memberships and Affiliations
Ms. Dupuis is a member of the Centre County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Dupuis was recognized in Philadelphia magazine as one of Pennsylvania’s best up-and-coming lawyers according to a survey published in 2006 and again in 2007.
Ms. Dupuis is currently serving on the Boards of the Leadership Centre County, the Centre County United Way, Heritage 1 Division of the Centre County Chamber of Business and Industry, the Central Pennsylvania Risk Management Association and the Pennsylvania Builders Association. She also provides pro bono legal services to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County, the Community Academy of Lifelong Learning, State College AAUW, the Collaboration of Arts, Social Sciences and Education and Harvest Fields, Inc. Ms. Dupuis is also an active volunteer for the Centre County United Way serving as a Loaned Executive for the annual campaign and an active volunteer with the Pennsylvania Builders Association serving as Vice-Chairman for Regulatory Affairs and as a member of the Governance Task Force. |
