James D. (JD) Mazzocco

Area of Emphasis

James D. (JD) Mazzocco is an attorney in the Construction, Litigation, and Transportation Safety groups of the law firm of Babst Calland.  Mr. Mazzocco has extensive experience in cases involving the Pennsylvania Mechanics’ Lien Law, and represents contractors, subcontractors, design engineers and project owners in a variety of construction-related disputes including construction defect claims, differing site condition claims, delay and inefficiency claims, payment and performance bond claims, and payment and contract performance disputes.  He also assists owners and operators of pipeline facilities in matters relating to regulatory compliance, internal audits, due diligence, enforcement, and litigation.

Background

Mr. Mazzocco received his B.A. in English and a minor in Chemistry, cum laude, from Gettysburg College in 2011.

Mr. Mazzocco received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2014. During his law school career, he served as an intern at several law firms in the Pittsburgh area, worked as a teaching assistant, and was an award-winning individual and team member of Duquesne University’s Appellate Moot Court Board.

Memberships and Affiliations

Mr. Mazzocco was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2014. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Mazzocco is a member of the Allegheny and Washington County Bar associations. He is also a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the Northern Appalachian Landman’s Association.
