James D. (JD) Mazzocco

Area of Emphasis

JD Mazzocco is an associate in the Construction and Litigation groups of Babst Calland. Mr. Mazzocco has experience in cases involving the Pennsylvania Mechanics’ Lien Law and has represented clients in a variety of commercial and construction-related matters including oil and gas lease disputes, construction defect, and breach of contract actions. Mr. Mazzocco also has experience reviewing real estate abstracts, preparing mineral title opinions, advising clients on issues relating to title and property law, and recommending appropriate curative actions. Mr. Mazzocco has litigated these types of issues in Pennsylvania state and federal court.

Background

Mr. Mazzocco received his B.A. in English and a minor in Chemistry, cum laude, from Gettysburg College in 2011.

Mr. Mazzocco received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2014. During his law school career, he served as an intern at several law firms in the Pittsburgh area, worked as a teaching assistant, and was an award-winning individual and team member of Duquesne University’s Appellate Moot Court Board.

Memberships and Affiliations

Mr. Mazzocco was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2014. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Mazzocco is a member of the Allegheny and Washington County Bar associations. He is also a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the Northern Appalachian Landman’s Association.
