Area of Emphasis
Jonathan Dan is an associate in the Energy & Natural Resources and Business Services Groups of Babst Calland. Mr. Dan’s practice includes counseling various clients on matters involving oil and gas law, with an emphasis on oil and gas titles. He has experience with due diligence and drafting title opinions that address defects in the chain of title and suggesting cures.
Background
Mr. Dan received his B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and received his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, Michigan. While at Cooley, he was awarded an honors academic scholarship and was on the Dean’s list and Honor Roll multiple times.
During law school, Mr. Dan completed an internship with the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office located in Ann Arbor, Michigan in December 2008. While working with Assistant Public Defenders, he counseled clients in all stages of their criminal cases including Preliminary Examinations, Pre-trial, Sentencing and Violation of Probation hearings. Mr. Dan also negotiated with state prosecutors and representatives of the state Attorney General’s office.

Mr. Dan is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
