Area of Emphasis
Meredith Odato is an associate in the Environmental Services and the Energy & Natural Resources Groups of Babst Calland. She assists clients on a wide variety of environmental matters, ranging from RCRA compliance to air quality permitting, and focuses her practice on federal and state regulatory issues.
Background
In 2008, Ms. Odato graduated summa cum laude with distinction in research from Cornell University where she earned a B.S. in Natural Resources and focused her studies on Resource Policy and Management. Her work as a Cornell Presidential Research Scholar was published in the Journal of Forestry and her enthusiasm for environmental policy earned her the title of Morris K. Udall Scholar. She has since received multiple national awards recognizing her pursuit of an environmental law career.
Ms. Odato is a 2011 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, from which she also earned a certificate in advanced study of environmental law, science and policy. She was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and a Pitt Law Fellows Scholar. Ms. Odato served for three years as an elected class representative in the Student Bar Association and as the Class of 2011 Vice President. She was also an Articles Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and served in leadership positions for the Military Law Society and the Italian American Law Student Association. Her contributions to the Pitt Law community were acknowledged by her receipt of the School of Law Community Service Award. She also earned eight CALI Excellence for the Future Awards and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
As a law student, Ms. Odato participated as a summer intern in the Blackstone Legal Fellowship, a ministry and leadership program of the Alliance Defense Fund. She also served as an intern in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Pittsburgh District) Office of Counsel during her final year of law school.
Memberships and Affiliations
Ms. Odato is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Pittsburgh chapters of the Christian Legal Society and the St. Thomas More Society.
