Area of Emphasis
Ms. Presley practices in the firm’s Litigation Services and Employment and Labor Services Groups. Her practice focuses on defending management in all facets of labor and employment-related litigation, including representation of employers in single-plaintiff litigation arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and comparable state laws. Ms. Presley has represented clients before various federal and state agencies, including the EEOC, PHRC and WVHRC. She has also litigated matters on behalf of employers in numerous state and federal courts.
Ms. Presley dedicates a significant portion of her practice to proactively counseling employers, particularly those in the area of oil and gas with respect to litigation prevention and overall compliance with state, federal, and administrative laws and regulations. These include reviewing and revising employee manuals and policies, reviewing and counseling management regarding termination decisions (including large scale layoffs), and performing complex human resource audits. In addition, she is experienced in drafting various employment agreements including non-competes and severance agreements. Ms. Presley also has substantial experience defending employers in class and collective action disputes. Her litigation practice also includes representation of clients in premise liability claims and commercial disputes.
Background
Ms. Presley is a 2000 graduate of Mount Union College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and legal studies. She was awarded her J.D. from Duquesne University in 2003 where she competed nationally in the Trial Moot Court program. While in law school, Ms. Presley was a member of the Louis L. Manderino Honor Society, received the Lynette Norton Memorial Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and was the recipient of the CALI award in advocacy. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Presley was a senior associate at one of the county’s largest labor and employment law firms.
Memberships and Affiliations
Ms. Presley was admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania in 2003. She is also admitted to practice before the state and appellate courts in Ohio and West Virginia, the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Northern District of West Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Ms. Presley is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
Ms. Presley is a Past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Allegheny County Bar Association and a council member of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She is a member of the ACBA’s Gender Equality Committee and the Women in the Law Division. Ms. Presley actively volunteers with Neighborhood Legal Services handling Protection from Abuse hearings. She is an adjunct professor of Legal Research and Writing at Duquesne University School of Law, which has been recognized as one of the best Legal Writing programs in the country.
Since 2010 Ms. Presley has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Philadelphia Magazine. She was also appointed to the Young Lawyer Fellow by the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.
Ms. Presley was the recipient of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s 2012 Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award.

Ms. Presley is a frequent lecturer on various legal issues, including employment law updates and employer policies and procedures.
