Scott McKernan is an associate in the Energy & Natural Resources and Business Services Groups of Babst Calland.
Mr. McKernan’s practice includes counseling various clients on matters involving natural resources and energy law, with an emphasis on rendering oil and gas title opinions. He also counsels clients in matters involving seismic data acquisition and licensing, and advises clients in matters involving transactions of subsurface rights, including oil and gas rights.
Background
Mr. McKernan received his B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Education from St. Vincent College in 2004. While at St. Vincent, he was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, an academic honor society, and Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in the field of education. Mr. McKernan graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in 2007. Before joining Babst Calland, he was an associate with law firms located in Pittsburgh and in Indiana, Pennsylvania that concentrated on oil, gas and mineral law, business and commercial litigation, corporate and business law, and commercial real estate law.

Mr. McKernan was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2007 and is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
