Area of Emphasis
Tim Schoonover is a shareholder in the Natural Resources Development, Litigation and Public Sector Services Groups of Babst Calland. Mr. Schoonover has practiced law in the Centre region since 1997 in both private practice and the corporate setting. He currently serves as Solicitor for Haines and Benner Townships and is former counsel to AccuWeather, Inc. Mr. Schoonover has significant experience with Marcellus Shale related issues, including contract matters and land use litigation issues. His practice also includes the areas of real estate, corporate/business law, municipal law, litigation, estate planning and estate administration. Mr. Schoonover routinely handles cases throughout central Pennsylvania as well as the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.
Background
Mr. Schoonover is a 1986 graduate of Troy Area High School, Troy, Pennsylvania, a 1990 graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Business Administration and a 1995 graduate of the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. Mr. Schoonover began his legal career in Bradford County, Pennsylvania and regularly practiced in Bradford, Tioga, Lycoming and Sullivan Counties before moving to Centre County in 1997.
Memberships and Affiliations
Mr. Schoonover was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1995. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Schoonover is a member of the Centre County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He has served on the Board of Governors and is a past Secretary for the Centre County Bar Association.
Mr. Schoonover is a past member of the State College Jaycees, having served as Community Development
Vice-President for the years 1999 and 2000. He has also served on the State College Jaycees Board of Directors and the Board of Directors for the Infant Evaluation Program, serving as Board President in 2003-2004.
Mr. Schoonover has served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County, having served as Board President during 2009-10. He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Centre County Housing and Land Trust, where he serves as Vice-President Additionally, Mr. Schoonover currently serves as President of the Board of Managers for the State College YMCA branch and as a Board Member of the YMCA of Centre County. |
