Kathryn A. VanDeveer

Area of Emphasis

Kathryn VanDeveer is a staff attorney in the Energy and Natural Resources Group of Babst Calland. Ms. VanDeveer counsels various energy, oil, gas and mineral-related clients on transaction matters, including title examination, title curative, oil and gas title opinions, and due diligence.


Ms. VanDeveer graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2012, with a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy, a B.A. in Public Policy, a minor in Economics, and a concentration in Psychology. She received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2016, where she actively participated in the Urban Development Clinic and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Civil Procedure II. Additionally, Ms. VanDeveer was a staff writer for both Joule: Duquesne Energy and Environmental Law Journal and Juris Magazine. During law school, Ms. VanDeveer worked for two energy companies as an intern in the Land Administration and Acquisition department and Title department.

Memberships and Affiliations

Ms. VanDeveer is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. She is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bar associations.
