Chelsea R. Heinz

Chelsea Heinz is an associate in Energy and Natural Resources and Litigation groups of Babst Calland. Ms. Heinz draws on her experience as a landman, in-house attorney and title attorney when assisting energy clients in a broad range of matters, including royalty disputes, title issues and trespass claims.
Ms. Heinz graduated summa cum laude from Alfred University in 2009, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology and Biology and was selected for membership in Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from University at Buffalo School of Law in 2013, where she was a Graduate Research Fellow. During law school, Ms. Heinz worked as a landman throughout Northern and Western Pennsylvania. After law school, she was an associate attorney at a Pittsburgh-area oil and gas law firm. Prior to joining Babst Calland, Ms. Heinz was the Appalachian General Counsel of a mineral acquisitions company.

Ms. Heinz is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and West Virginia. She is a member of the Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Allegheny County Bar associations. Ms. Heinz is also a member of the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation, the Institute for Energy Law and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. She is a member of the Institute for Energy Law Young Energy Professionals Publication Board and an Associate Editor for its Energy Dispatch newsletter. Ms. Heinz was selected for the Institute for Energy Law’s 2019-2020 Leadership Class.
