Meghan A. Moran
Area of Emphasis
Meghan Moran is an associate in the Corporate and Commercial Group of Babst Calland. Ms. Moran’s practice focuses primarily on counseling corporate and commercial clients on matters related to ownership of and title to real estate and mineral rights, commercial real estate transactions, and general corporate matters. This work includes: title examination, title curative, due diligence, negotiation and drafting of contracts, business planning, and litigation. She also counsels and represents business and non-business clients in real estate assessment appeals, in eminent domain matters, and with other pressing litigation and non-litigation issues.
Ms. Moran is a native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude, with a B.A. in Psychology and History. She received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2003. After law school, she worked as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Dante Pellegrini of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Babst Calland, Ms. Moran worked at two law firms in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she practiced insurance defense litigation and energy law. She has represented clients in various court proceedings, including depositions, motions practice, settlement negotiations, arbitrations, mediations, trials, and on appeal, and has counseled clients on a wide range of oil, gas and mineral matters.
Memberships and Affiliations
Ms. Moran is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, the United States District Courts for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Southern District of West Virginia, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She is an active member in the Allegheny County Bar Association, including the Women in the Law Division, the Washington County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Women’s Energy Network (WEN). When Ms. Moran is not practicing law, she teaches fitness classes at Mt. Lebanon High School’s Continuing Education Program and at gyms throughout the Pittsburgh area.
