SUMMARY:A&WMA AMS February 2019 Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Attorney Jean Mosites will present “Cap and Trade – Past\, Present and Future” at the A&WMA AMS February 2019 Luncheon on Thursday\, February 14\, 2019. Cap and Trade systems have been proposed\, adopted and abandoned over the years in various regions across the United States and Canada. With the renewed emphasis on climate change and Pennsylvania’s Environmental Rights Amendment (ERA) in recent years\, it is not surprising that a new proposal has been submitted to the Pennsylvania Environmental Quality Board\, the board responsible for promulgating environmental regulations in Pennsylvania. The proposal is based on a California model\, a state that often marks a new path regarding environmental initiatives. This session will look at the Pennsylvania proposal in detail\, compare it to other cap and trade models\, and consider this among other proposals being advanced related to climate change and the ERA.
