SUMMARY:American Conference Institute’s Automotive Product Liability Litigation Conference
DESCRIPTION:Tim Goodman will be presenting at the session\, Interview with NHTSA on Regulatory Oversight\, Recalls\, and Safety Standards\, at the American Conference Institute’s Automotive Product Liability Litigation Conference\, July 18-19\, 2019. \n2019 will mark the beginning of a new paradigm for Automotive Product Liability Litigation. Be prepared to address the new demands and legal and regulatory challenges the industry is facing. As new emerging technology for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles is developing at rapid speed to keep up with consumer demand\, automotive companies are facing potential liabilities and unprecedented litigation risk. Class action litigation is spreading and the effects of recalls and MDL litigation from alleged defective components is also on the rise. This conference will help make sense of all this and give practical knowledge on the latest legal and regulatory trends\, developments\, and case law in the automotive context. \nFor more information\, click here.

SUMMARY:A&WMA AMS February 2019 Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Attorney Jean Mosites will present “Cap and Trade – Past\, Present and Future” at the A&WMA AMS February 2019 Luncheon on Thursday\, February 14\, 2019. Cap and Trade systems have been proposed\, adopted and abandoned over the years in various regions across the United States and Canada. With the renewed emphasis on climate change and Pennsylvania’s Environmental Rights Amendment (ERA) in recent years\, it is not surprising that a new proposal has been submitted to the Pennsylvania Environmental Quality Board\, the board responsible for promulgating environmental regulations in Pennsylvania. The proposal is based on a California model\, a state that often marks a new path regarding environmental initiatives. This session will look at the Pennsylvania proposal in detail\, compare it to other cap and trade models\, and consider this among other proposals being advanced related to climate change and the ERA.
