Christopher W. Capcara

Area of Emphasis

Christopher Capcara is an associate in the Energy and Natural Resources Group of Babst Calland. Mr. Capcara counsels various energy, oil, gas and mineral-related clients on transaction matters, including title examination and title curative work. He also counsels clients with respect to natural gas pipelines, forced unitization issues, and disputes involving the Ohio Dormant Minerals Act and the Ohio Marketable Title Act.

Background

Mr. Capcara graduated from Penn State University in 2007 with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a minor in Psychology.  He received his J.D. cum laude from the Duquesne University School of Law in 2010.

After law school, Mr. Capcara worked with a Texas-based oil and gas law firm where his practice focused on examining and certifying oil and gas title opinions in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Prior to joining Babst Calland, he worked with a Cleveland, Ohio law firm as an associate in its energy and real estate groups.

Memberships and Affiliations

Mr. Capcara is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. He is also a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Capcara is a member of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF), Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), Northern Appalachian Landman’s Association (NALA) and the Michael Late Benedum Chapter of the AAPL.
