Area of Emphasis

Les Chambers is a shareholder in Babst Calland’s Energy and Natural Resources and Litigation groups, and the Managing Shareholder of Babst Calland’s Houston office. Mr. Chambers concentrates his practice in the areas of oil and gas, property, and transactional law and assisting clients on a wide range of energy matters including negotiating and drafting contracts, buy-sell agreements, non-competition agreements, entity formation and organizational agreements, oil and gas leases, due diligence examination and analysis, pipeline land acquisitions and surface use and seismic agreements. In addition, he has written, overseen, and maintained the title guidelines and curative requirements used by a number of oil and gas title law firms for the drafting of title opinions.

Mr. Chambers has also spent his career successfully litigating a variety of complex multi-party commercial disputes for corporations, partnerships and individuals, regarding breach of contract, oil and gas claims, anti-trust litigation, insurance bad faith and civil damage suits including sophisticated premise and product liability cases.

Background

Prior to joining Babst Calland, Mr. Chambers was founder and partner of the Chambers Law Firm, with offices in Houston, Texas and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before practicing law, Mr. Chambers served in the United States Marine Corps and was the recipient of the “Leatherneck Award” from the Board of Governors of the Marine Corps. In 1988, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the Baylor University. He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University School of Law in 1991.
