16th Appalachia Energy Law Conference
September 2 @ 5:30 pm - September 3 @ 5:10 pm
Babst Calland joins the Institute for Energy Law and the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF) at the 16th Appalachia Energy Law Conference (f/k/a Law of Shale Plays Conference), September 2-3, 2025. Focused on legal issues related to onshore energy production, primarily oil and gas production in Appalachia, this conference brings together clients, attorneys, professional landmen, and other professionals to learn and discuss important cases, concepts, and trends. In addition, the conference features multiple networking opportunities with other attendees.
Attorney Dan Richey will present “The Changing Midstream Legal Landscape in 2025.” This presentation looks at emerging trends and new challenges and opportunities in the midstream oil and gas industry, which is expected to see increased consolidation and potential for substantial growth, but also headwinds of uncertainty in a changing regulatory environment. It will touch on how economic and policy vectors are steering those trends, such as changes in federal regulatory posture and their relationship to the state regulatory apparatus, as well as economic trends, such as the potential for a surge in demand for natural gas amid potential growth driven by exports and the explosion in data center-related capital expenditures. Finally, it will review practical implications for pipeline projects and deals in the western Pennsylvania PJM footprint.
Attorney Jenni Hicks will serve as a conference co-chair. For more information, click here.
