Alexander O. Giorgetti

Area of Emphasis

Alex Giorgetti is an associate in the Public Sector Group of Babst Calland. Mr. Giorgetti’s practice focuses primarily on municipal and land use law with a concentration in general municipal, zoning, subdivision and land development, and code enforcement.

Mr. Giorgetti counsels and represents public sector clients on a wide array of local government issues, including review of land use applications and preparation of land use ordinances for zoning, subdivision, and land development. He also advises public sector clients on general municipal issues including the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, code enforcement, public bidding, the State Ethics Act, and the Sunshine Act. Mr. Giorgetti serves as an assistant solicitor for many of the Firm’s municipal and zoning hearing board clients.

Mr. Giorgetti also advises and represents private sector clients on a wide array of land use and real estate related matters, including easements, eminent domain matters, subdivisions, lot consolidations, land developments, variances, special exceptions, and conditional use approvals and appeals. In this role, he assists private entities of various sizes and complexity work through all stages of a project including obtaining all necessary municipal land use approvals and permits.

Background

Mr. Giorgetti graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020, earning a B.A. in History with an emphasis in Western European studies. Upon graduation he worked as a Congressional Aide assisting constituents and working closely with federal agencies as well as staffing his Member of Congress at events throughout western Pennsylvania.

Mr. Giorgetti attended the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University and graduated in 2025. While at the Duquesne Kline School of Law, he served as a teaching assistant for first-year legal research & writing students and as President of the Duquesne Italian-American Law Society. Mr. Giorgetti competed as a member of the Duquesne Appellate Moot Court Board, was appointed a Senator in the Student Bar Association, and served as a junior staff member for the Duquesne Law Review. During law school he served as a clerk for the Honorable Judge Michael H. Wojcik on the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and the Honorable Justice David N. Wecht on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Mr. Giorgetti served as a law clerk at Babst Calland in 2025.

Mr. Giorgetti is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) and American Bar Association (ABA). Mr. Giorgetti is also an active member of the ACBA’s School and Municipal Law Section.
