Tim Schoonover is a shareholder in the Energy and Natural Resources, Litigation and Public Sector groups of Babst Calland. Mr. Schoonover has practiced law in the Centre County region since 1997 in both private practice and the corporate setting. He has a robust practice and handles a wide range of legal matters for a diverse group of clients.
Mr. Schoonover has substantial litigation experience dealing with real estate issues, corporate/business/shareholder disputes, contract disputes, land use and estate administration matters. In addition, he has significant experience working with energy clients in the natural gas and solar fields. Mr. Schoonover routinely handles cases throughout Pennsylvania, with an emphasis on state court matters.

Mediation Experience
Mr. Schoonover is a trained and certified mediator who has handled mediation cases in a wide range of matters including real estate disputes, shareholder disputes and estate administration conflicts. His broad range of litigation experience provides the ability to assist with dispute resolution in a broad range of matters. Mr. Schoonover understands the complexities that drive disputes and is dedicated to assisting parties in working toward fair, efficient, and cost-effective resolutions.
Background
Mr. Schoonover is a 1986 graduate of Troy Area High School, Troy, Pennsylvania, a 1990 graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Business Administration and a 1995 graduate of the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.
Memberships and Affiliations
Mr. Schoonover is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Schoonover is a member of the Centre County and Pennsylvania Bar associations. He has served on the Board of Governors and is a past Secretary for the Centre County Bar Association. Mr. Schoonover is actively engaged in with organizations serving the Centre Region. He has served on numerous non-profit boards of directors, including the Infant Evaluation Program, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County, Centre County Housing and Land Trust, YMCA of Greater Centre County and State College Area Meals on Wheels, serving as Board President of each organization while a board member.
Mr. Schoonover was recognized as one of the Top 100 businesspersons in Central Pennsylvania in 2024 by the Pennsylvania Business Central.
