Sarah Czypinski Joins Babst Calland

Sarah M. Czypinski recently joined Babst Calland’s Pittsburgh, Pa. office senior counsel in the Litigation Group.

Ms. Czypinski represents businesses in a broad range of complex disputes, including commercial contracts, class actions, employment and labor, energy and natural resources disputes; breach of fiduciary duty and financial fraud claims; real property, lease, and easement claims; environmental suits; antitrust claims; insurance coverage and bad faith; product liability claims; and a range of other tort and statutory claims. Her experience spans industries including energy and natural resources, manufacturing, healthcare, insurance, construction, and the public sector. She litigates complex disputes through all phases, from pleadings and discovery through trial and appeal, in state and federal courts, with a particular focus on federal court litigation informed by her experience as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Her practice includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, handling depositions and complex discovery, and advising clients on early case assessment, risk, and strategy. Ms. Czypinski represents businesses in energy, environmental, employment, labor, and insurance coverage matters, including permit challenges, property and lease disputes, discrimination and wage and hour claims, and coverage and bad faith actions. She advises clients on litigation risk, settlement strategy, and maximizing available insurance coverage, drawing on experience representing both policyholders and insurers. She maintains an active appellate practice in state and federal appellate courts, including matters of first impression and appeals seeking to change existing law, and has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Before joining the Firm, Ms. Czypinski was a senior attorney with Houston Harbaugh, P.C., She is a 2015 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
