Jennifer J. Hicks

Area of Emphasis

Jennifer Hicks is an associate in the Litigation, Employment and Labor, and Energy and Natural Resources groups.  Ms. Hicks has represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout West Virginia.  These include breach of contract, employment, environmental, nuisance, trespass, property damage, premises liability, product liability, consumer protection, partition, unknown heirs, criminal, and landlord-tenant, among others.  Ms. Hicks has both trial and appellate court experience, including jury trials, and has also litigated before administrative agencies.


Ms. Hicks graduated from West Virginia University, with a B.A. in Women’s Studies in 2007.  She received her J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 2010.

Memberships and Affiliations

Ms. Hicks is admitted to practice in West Virginia and in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia.  She is a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.  Ms. Hicks serves as the president of the Kanawha County Bar Association and is a member of the board of directors of Generation West Virginia.

Ms. Hicks was selected to the Super Lawyers West Virginia Rising Stars (Thompson Reuters) list since 2017.
