Babst Calland joins The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law for its Special Institute on Siting Renewable Energy Projects and Transmission Infrastructure, May 29-30, 2025. Attorney Blaine Lucas will serve as a panelist for “Trends and Challenges in Local Government Permitting and State Responses.” This panel will provide a broad survey of the current local government regulatory landscape for renewable energy projects, including local government efforts to discourage or prevent renewable energy development, state-level efforts to preempt or counterbalance local opposition, strategies for working around roadblocks with siting entities, and notable litigation involving local and state permitting. The panel also will address the impacts of environmental justice efforts and other federal actions on local and state project approval processes. For more information, click here.
